With more than 600 pupils aged between 7 and 11, William Austin Junior School is one of the largest junior schools in the country. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the School has a history of sound education and has undergone extensive modernisation. Guided by its motto, ‘Care, Inspire, Achieve’, the School choose Focus Washrooms for a complete refurbishment in all toilet areas.
During the six-week project Focus Washrooms worked closely with the contractor delivering outstanding services. The system chosen by the school was Trovex S3:60 in plain colour schemes for ten boy’s and girl’s toilet facilities situated throughout the campus. Trovex S3:60 combines a robust approach with a practical appeal, performing at top level in education environments.
Design solutions that contribute to reducing water and energy consumption were added to this project such as energy saving hand dryers and LED lighting that will save up 80% of energy and block taps that will save up 85% of water compared to twist taps.
The project included some design changes in the boy’s toilets – urinals were removed and additional toilets were added. New suspended ceilings with PVC faced ceiling tiles gave the final touched to the facilities.
The pupils and staff of William Austin School in Luton are thrilled with the 10 new toilet blocks completely refurbished by Focus Washrooms during last summer.
“I am so pleased with the new toilets – they are bright, modern and most importantly clean!” – said Mrs Adams, the Headteacher.
